Goodbye
The candlelight flickers
Exposing all perfections
Of your flawless physique
And eyes of emerald green.
A body I used to hold tight
Give all of myself to
Worship, passionately
And, ache to satisfy.
Only a picture now
Encased in reflective glass
Emitting the same flame that
Once was so evident amongst us.
Oh, the memories linger
The love we shared, and
One we said would never
Fold its wings and die.
It did. So, the picture must go.
I’ve looked at it long enough.
The glass is broken now
Swept away and disposed of.
Goodbye.
